1959 Everly Brothers record 'Let It Be Me' in New York - their first session away from Nashville and their first with strings

1967 The Beatles 'Magical Mystery Tour' LP goes gold

1968 Appearing on the 'Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour', Grace Slick appears in blackface and raise a black-leather glove in a black power salute.The incident is one of several that leads to the show's cancellation
