10.45am. The 'Magical Mystery Tour' bus leaves from Allsop Place, London. Start of the Magical Mystery Tour. The bus visits Somerset, Cornualles; Devon; West Mailing Airport, Kent.

Day of the eventual end of Brian's stay at the Waldorf Towers, New York, during his planned trip to North America. (The alternative was 12 September.)

'All You Need Is Love' number 1 (Billboard).

US Gold certification for 'All You Need Is Love'/'Baby You're A Rich Man'.

End of Ringo's stay for observation at the Middlesex Hospital, London.
